First seek to understand, then to be understood. Find your inner voice and inspire others to find theirs.

Stephen Covey, The 7 habits of highly effective people

Of all the habits of highly effective people (Stephen Covey), the 5th and 8th are crucial. This is where the key to success lies: working from a place of autonomy.

To truly understand, we must first listen — only then can we begin to express ourselves in a way that allows us to be understood (Habit 5). And also (Habit 8): by connecting on all dimensions of ‘being’, we ignite intrinsic motivation in people. Only then can genuine, autonomous collaboration take place.

Communication psychology and Agile working go hand in hand. Optimization only happens when people are connected — to themselves and to their teams. By putting the human being at the center, you create lasting change and strong, resilient teams.
